Patience - I don't have any.....

The Merriam-Websters Dictionary has a Learner's Dictionary for people trying to learn the English Language.   It has a very good definition for PATIENCE.

 pa·tience:
1 : the quality of being patient: such as a : the ability to wait for a long time without becoming annoyed or upset

b : the ability to remain calm and not become annoyed when dealing with problems or with difficult people

c : the ability to give attention to something for a long time without becoming bored or losing interest

This does NOT describe me in the least! lol

I used to have a lot of patience with people and life in general. But it seems the older I get the less patient I become.... not good when you drive a school bus with 60+ children on it. :) Though I have amazingly wonderful kids on my bus, usually quite well behaved, so that's not an issue.

It's adults I have no patience with.

For the last almost 4 years we have had a dog boarding kennel. When people go away on weekends or for holidays they would drop off their dog and we would look after it. The dogs were great for the most part. There were always a few that just couldn't figure out that they needed to poop and pee outside.... And there were a few that had bad attitudes and didn't like other dogs. But for the most part the dogs were fine.

The owners though couldn't seem to tell time..... If they can show up for work every day on time, go to appointments on time, are never late for church - why can't they drop off their dog on time? Some would be over 2 hours late! Really?!!!! I guess they thought I had nothing better to do with my time other than sit and wait for them. Thankfully I closed the kennel yesterday, so now I don't have to wait for people any more.

Just not very good at waiting. Could be doing something else!

I'm also on Etsy. Have a team that runs very smoothly with the help of many friends :) {Promoting Creative Friends Team} However.... there seem to be some people that just can't read the rules to discussions. They just post a bunch of their items willy nilly in all the discussions with no care to what the discussion might actually be about! Really?!!!! (again) I just don't get it. I realize we all want to promote our shops as much as possible in hopes of getting a sale or 2, but let's show some restraint and respect to the other team members and not "trod" all over everyone else in our haste to make our millions with our crafts!

Then there's FaceBook..... my goodness! I've been "unfriending" and "unfollowing" a lot of people lately. There is a lot of stupidity on the internet.... Thankfully I'm part of a few groups on FB that have wonderful members that are respectful, up beat and supportive. I'll just have to ignore the rest.

Maybe learning to be more PATIENT will have to be my New Year's Resolution for 2014! If I told this to my husband and children they would just laugh at me... lol But I might have to give it a try.

Upside-Down Shepherd's Pie

Can't believe that Christmas is over and it's almost 2014!!! Where did 2013 go? lol It is true - the older you get the faster life goes.

We had an awesome Christmas, ate too much as usual, but had fun doing it :) Now to figure out what to do with all the leftovers! I always freeze the leftover turkey, did send a bunch with the boys and hubby when they left to go back to their jobs. But I had all these leftover mashed potatoes! Now what?

Well - I decided to search Pinterest for "leftover mashed potatoes" and came up with this recipe.

Upside-Down Shepherd's Pie looked like a good place to start. For some reason I just can't seem to do some recipes exactly as they are written.... :) I decided to add some flavor to the meat by making it into Taco Meat, though I did still add onion, green pepper and corn. After it was all together I added the cheese and put it back in the oven on broil until the cheese melted.

I'm quite happy with the result. Shouldn't have to cook supper for a few days at least :)
